Meglumine is used as a co-solvent for contrast agents.
Meglumine can enhance the fat solubility of cyclic adenosine monophosphate and improve the purity of cyclic adenosine monophosphate, allowing it to exert maximum pharmacological effects. Meglumine has: 1. positive inotropic effect, is a non-digitalis strong heart drug, can enhance myocardial contractility, improve cardiac pumping function; 2. has vasodilation effect, expand peripheral blood vessels, reduce the before and after load of the heart; 3. improve myocardial metabolism, reduce coronary resistance, increase myocardial oxygen supply; 4. has the effect of inhibiting platelet aggregation and protecting cardiovascular disease; 5. meglumine also has anti-arrhythmic effect.
