Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate is used as a cold-resistant plasticizer for a variety of resins, especially polyvinyl chloride and vinyl chloride copolymers.
Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate is an excellent cold-resistant plasticizer of polyvinyl chloride, which gives the product excellent low-temperature flexibility, and has certain photothermal stability and water resistance. In plastisol, the initial viscosity is low and the viscosity stability is good. Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate is often used with DOP and other main plasticizers and used in hardy agricultural films, wires, sheets, artificial leather, outdoor water pipes and packaging films for frozen foods. It can also be used as a low-temperature plasticizer for many synthetic rubbers and a plasticizer for resins such as nitrocellulose and ethylcellulose.
