Cephalexin is mainly used for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, obstetric and gynecological infections, skin and soft tissue infections, gonorrhea and so on caused by sensitive bacteria.
The bacteriostatic mechanism of cephalexin is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, so that the cell contents expand to cell autolysis, so as to achieve bactericidal effect. Cephalexin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It has antibacterial effect on gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria, and its antibacterial ability is 20 times greater than that of penicillins, 10 times greater than sulfonamides, and 5 times greater than quinolones. Cephalexin has the advantages of wide antibacterial spectrum, strong bactericidal power, acid resistance, and good gastrointestinal absorption.
