Neomycin sulfate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that works well against staphylococcus aureus, corynebacterium diphtheriae, and bacillus anthracis.
Neomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. Neomycin sulfate has good antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus (methicillin-sensitive strain), Corynebacterium, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus and other Enterobacteriaceae, and has poor activity against various groups of streptococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae and enterococcus. Neomycin sulfate is used to prevent and treat dysentery, diarrhea and stunting caused by E. coli and salmonella in pigs, chickens, cattle and other livestock and poultry. It can also be used as a treatment for enteritis in fish and shrimp in aquatic products.
