Synthesis Method: It can be synthesized from bis(3-nitro-4-fluorophenyl)hexafluoropropane. The synthesis involves two main steps. First, in the presence of potassium hydroxide and DMSO, bis(3-nitro-4-fluorophenyl)hexafluoropropane undergoes a substitution reaction to obtain bis(3-nitro-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane. Then, under the condition of palladium/carbon catalyst and hydrogen, bis(3-nitro-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane is reduced to obtain 2,2-bis(3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane.
Main Applications: It is mainly used as a monomer for synthesizing polyimides. Polyimides have excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength, and are widely used in aerospace, electronics, and other fields.
