Propyl gallate is used as a food antioxidant.
Propyl gallate can provide hydrogen atoms combined with free radicals generated by the automatic oxidation of oils and fats to form a relatively stable structure, block the chain automatic oxidation process of oils, and thus achieve the purpose of anti-oxidation. Propyl gallate is widely used in the food industry, and pharmaceutical preparations is an excellent oil antioxidant, used in cosmetics, and used as an inhibitor against ultraviolet radiation.
