D-Pantethine is a safe and effective blood lipid modulator.
The pharmacological effects of d-pantethine are as follows: (1) Cholesterol levels are mainly reduced by increasing the breakdown of cholesterol in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). (2) By increasing the synthesis of apolipoprotein A-I and enhancing the activity of tissue lipoproteinase, VLDL is converted to high-density lipoprotein (HDL), thereby increasing the content of HDL. (3) It can also accelerate the β-oxidation process of fatty acids in the liver and arterial wall, prevent cholesterol deposition in the arterial wall, and promote the production of adrenal corticosteroids, promote intestinal peristalsis, and anti-platelet aggregation.
D-Pantethine has the following uses: (1) It is used to treat hyperlipidemia, fatty liver and alcohol-toxic liver disease. (2) It is used for the prevention and treatment of lipid metabolism disorders, hypercholesterolemia, weak constipation, streptomycin and kanamycin side effects, acute and chronic eczema, blood diseases to improve platelet count and bleeding tendency. (3) The need for pantothenic acid increases, and supplementation from dietary intake is insufficient (including wasting diseases, hyperthyroidism, pregnant women and lactating women, etc.). (4) It can also be used as an adjuvant treatment for pantothenic acid deficiency and metabolic disorders-related diseases, such as side effects caused by aminoglycosides, acute and chronic eczema, hyperthyroidism, etc.
