Meloxicam is a non-steroidal antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug, which has strong anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects, can selectively inhibit the activity of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), thereby blocking the synthesis of prostaglandins, and the inhibitory effect on prostaglandin biosynthesis at the site of inflammation is stronger than that on the gastric mucosa or kidneys.
